Damp Is Not Always Visible

Dry Rot and Wet Rot

If you do not use damp-proofing services, you will face far greater future expenses. Any damage from damp can lead to such building problems as dry rot, wet rot, or rising damp. Dry rot, itself, is a condition where the moisture content of the timber is over 20%. This level of moisture causes timber-destroying fungus to grow. Wet rot occurs when the moisture content increases to over 40%, all which leads mustiness and weakened timber.
